South West Special Recreation Association would like to congratulate the Coyotes Special Olympics Softball team for placing 3rd at the Special Olympics Softball District Tournament on Sunday, August 1st. A special thank you to Head Coach, Nancy DiGangi and Assistant Coaches, Marty Lyons, Mike Marcordes and Jessica Pantoja. Well done team!
PARALYMPIC PROGRAMS
SWSRA is looking for teens and adults who are
interested in joining Paralympic sports!
A meeting will be held to discuss possible Paralympic sports that SWSRA will offer in the future at 5:30 PM on Tuesday, September 14, at the Worth office located at 10707 Oak Park Avenue.Input is needed and appreciated in order for these programs to be a success.
Athletes with physical disabilities include, but are not limited to, the following groups: amputee, cerebral palsy, visual impairment, spinal cord injuries, intellectual disability, and les autres (athletes with a physical disability that does not fall strictly under one or the other five groups). Within the six categories, athletes are divided according to their level of impairment in a functional classification system which differs from sport to sport.
Veterans, if you have sustained a physical injury while serving our country and would like to get involved in Paralympic sports, this program is for you!

Enjoy an evening of crazy bowling with family and friends! This fun-filled event includes 3-4 games of bowling and a buffet dinner. You may also participate in raffles and split-the-deck. All proceeds benefit South West Special Recreation Association. The last day to register is Friday, October 24th, or until lanes are full. Limited to 6 bowlers per lane.
